In the beginning, my group and I had only one goal for this campaign; to raise one thousand dollars for The Love Kitchen. We knew nothing about The Love Kitchen or how to run a successful campaign. The only thing that we knew at the time was that we had a duty of bringing awareness and donations to this amazing non-profit.
We made some mistakes along the way, but for the most part, our journey with The Love Kitchen ran pretty smoothly. We created a video, an Indiegogo page, a Facebook page and my personal favorite, this blog. We came up with perks for the people who donated and always looked for ways to interact with our audience.
I never imagined that The Love Kitchen could help me while I was helping them. I can not speak about my colleagues’ experiences, but for me, The Love Kitchen made me realize how much I took having a house and food for granted. I will never forget the personal impact that this organization left on me.
The people that depend on The Love Kitchen are some of the happiest people that I have ever encountered. They are all so grateful for what little they have and would share their belongings with anyone in need. Seeing this made a significant impact on me because I often find myself complaining about things aren’t important compared to not having a house or having food.
If anyone is deserving of your donations, it’s The Love Kitchen. They are doing their best with what they have, but the exterior of the building is falling apart and needs a renovation. Contributing to this non-profit would give the people whom they are helping the confidence that they so desperately need.
We’ve all heard the saying, “If you dress well, you test well.” The same concept applies here, if the outside of the building looks nice, the people going to The Love Kitchen would feel better about where they are going. They deserve to have a beautiful space to come to get meals for their family.
While our campaign is coming to an end, it’s not over yet, and there is still so work left for us to do. We have not reached our one thousand dollar goal, and we are desperately trying to find ways to meet it before our time runs out. If you can not donate, we would like to encourage you to share this blog post on your social media account(s) to spread the word!
We want to thank you, our audience, for all of the help and encouragement that you’ve given us along the way. Every week you have been here reading our blogs and supporting our Facebook page. Without you, none of our success would be possible.
If you have any advice on what we could do to promote our campaign better before it ends, please let us know in the comments below. We have a Facebook and Indiegogo page titled, “Money Flows, Hunger Goes” for anyone interested in our campaign.
Thank you again,
Anna Jones
